Providence Service Corporation Acquires Valley Psychiatric In Massachusetts

On October 14, 2014, Providence Service Corporation (Providence) announced that its Providence Human Services business had acquired Massachusetts-based Valley Psychiatric Service (VPS), which provides outpatient behavioral health services in Springfield and Worcester. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The acquisition extends Providence’s geographical presence in the Northeast. As Providence Human Services of Massachusetts, LLC, VPS will continue to do business under the VPS name, and its senior management team: President and founder Aaron Leavitt, M.D., JD; Operations Director Jennifer Collins, and Clinical Director Iris Castro will continue in management roles.
