Children enrolled in Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) between 2003 and 2012 were more likely to receive preventive medical care, specialty care, and dental care than children with commercial insurance. About 88% of children in Medicaid and CHIP received preventive medical care, compared to 83% of children with commercial insurance.
