Prevalence Of Autism Among U.S. Children Now 1 In 68

In 2010, the prevalence of eight-year-old children in the United States diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) was estimated at one in 68, or about 1.47% of all children that age. This new estimate is roughly 30% higher than the previous 2008 estimate of one in 88 eight-year-old children being identified with ASD, or 1.13%.
