Positive Childhood Experiences Linked To Lower Likelihood Of Adult Depression & Poor Mental Health
People who reported more positive childhood experiences such as supportive family interactions, caring relationships with friends, and connections in the community had a lower likelihood of adult depression or poor mental health, even for those who also faced numerous adverse childhood experiences. Compared to those who report zero to two positive childhood experiences, the adjusted odds of depression and poor mental health were 72% lower for those adults reporting six to seven positive childhood experiences.
