Physician Pay Increased By A Median Of 2.92% In 2018, While Productivity Increased By 0.29%
In 2018, physician salaries for primary care and specialty provider organizations increased by a median of 2.92%, while median physician productivity increased by 0.29%. This follows a 2017 salary increase of 0.89%, and a drop in productivity of 1.63%. The highest salary increase was for physicians practicing family medicine at 6.25%, while physicians practicing pediatrics experienced a 0.04% decrease in compensation.
These statistics were reported in "2019 Medical Group Compensation and Productivity Survey," by the American Medical Group Association (AMGA). AMGA surveyed 272 medical groups representing more than 117,000 health care provider organizations . . .
