Physician Census Identifies 953,695 Actively Licensed U.S. Physicians; 29% Are 60 Or Older

A 2016 physician census has identified 953,695 actively licensed physicians in the United States (including the District of Columbia). About 29% of the actively licensed physicians, representing 276,572 physicians, are age 60 and older. About 36% of those physicians who are age 60 and older are male, while 16% are female.
