Philadelphia Public/Private Partnership With Children’s Hospital To Open Health & Literacy Center
On September 18, 2014, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and officials with the City of Philadelphia broke ground on a new health and literacy center slated to open in late 2015. The Community Health and Literacy Center will have four fully integrated components: the CHOP Care Network, Primary Care for South Philadelphia; the City of Philadelphia’s Health Center 2; the Free Library’s South Philadelphia Neighborhood Library; and the DiSilvestro Recreation Center.
By housing the four community services together, CHOP and the city anticipate creating opportunities to provide integrated programming to enhance the health, literacy, and well-being . . .
