Mobile App Beats WRAP For Engagement Of Consumers With Serious Mental Illness
People with serious mental illness (SMI) are 32% more likely to commence treatment and 16% more likely to remain fully engaged when using a 12-week mobile health (mHealth) intervention, than when participating in a 12-week clinic-based group intervention called Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). Consumers utilizing mobile health had a 90% chance of starting treatment, compared to 58% for those participating in WRAP. Mobile health users also had a 56% likelihood of remaining fully engaged—which is defined as keeping regular appointments—over eight weeks of care, compared to 40% for those participating in WRAP.
