Pennsylvania To Phase In Medicaid Managed Long-Term Care
On February 27, 2015, the new Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced a "Senior Initiative" to improve home- and community-based services (HCBS); one of the provisions calls for phasing in Medicaid managed long-term services and supports (LTSS) within three years. The Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Department of Aging (PDA) will partner to pursue the implementation of Medicaid managed LTSS. Shifting the Medicaid HCBS waiver services to managed care was among the recommendations submitted in January 2015 by the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care Commission.
