Pennsylvania Selects AmeriHealth Caritas, Centene & UPMC For $5 Billion In MLTSS Contracts
On August 30, 2016, the Pennsylvania departments of Human Services (DHS) and Aging announced that the Commonwealth had selected three MCOs—AmeriHealth Caritas, Pennsylvania Health and Wellness (Centene), and UPMC for You—for the new Medicaid Community HealthChoices (CHC) managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) program.The CHC population represents about 15% of Pennsylvania’s total 2.7 million Medicaid beneficiaries. The aggregate contract value is estimated at $5 billion annually.
CHC is slated to start in 2017, and will roll out in three phases. The first phase is slated to start in March 2017 in the Southwest region . . .
