Pennsylvania Medicaid Negotiating With Eight MCOs For Physical HealthChoices Contracts

On April 27, 2016, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced it was in negotiations with eight Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) to set new three-year contracts for the Medicaid physical HealthChoices program. The contracts are slated to begin in 2017. DHS is negotiating with: Aetna Better Health of Pennsylvania; Centene (Pennsylvania Health and Wellness); Geisinger Health Plan; Health Partners Plans; United Healthcare of Pennsylvania, Inc.; UPMC for You, Inc.; Vista—AmeriHealth Caritas Health Plan; and Vista--Keystone First Health Plan.
