Pennsylvania Medicaid Managed Selections On Hold Due To Challenge
On July 8, 2020, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced its selection for negotiations for the next round of Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) agreements for the $13 billion physical health HealthChoices program. However, DHS said protests had been filed, preventing it from conducting Readiness Review and agreement negotiations. The HealthChoices programserves more than 2.6 million people.
DHS selected Geisinger Health Plan, Health Partners Plans, UPMC for You, and Vista Health Plan (AmeriHealth Caritas)for negotiation in all five HealthChocies zones. Gateway Health was selected for two zones, and UnitedHealthCare was selected for one zone. The MCOs . . .
