Oregon’s Medicaid Plan Renewed 5 More Years, Expands CCO Model To Dual Eligibles
On January 12, 2017, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Oregon’s Medicaid demonstration renewal request for five more years and allowed the state to expand the model to Medicaid and Medicare dual-eligible members. The waiver renewal allows the state to passively enroll dually eligible individuals who choose to enroll in the Oregon Health Plan into a Coordinated Care Organization (CCO). However, dual eligibles will retain the choice to opt out of the CCO and return to the fee-for-service (FFS) system at any time.
