On December 5, 2017, Optum signed an agreement to purchase DaVita Medical Group (Davita) for $4.9 billion. The transaction is expected to close in 2018, pending regulatory approval. DaVita will become part of Optum's OptumCare Divisions which works with over 80 health plans.
