Online Therapy Has Similar Benefits As Face-To-Face CBT
People diagnosed with depression who completed an eight-week online program that delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) had a reduction in their depression symptoms equivalent to the reduction experienced by people who received CBT during face-to-face office-based sessions. About 70% of those who completed the online CBT program experienced recovery; after treatment their clinical depression symptoms were below the diagnostic threshold.
