Ohio Legislature Considers Extending Foster Care Benefits To Age 21
The Ohio legislature is considering a proposal to extend foster care benefits through age 21 to young adults who age out of foster care. Under the bill, foster youths between 18 and 21 could get continued services, provided they meet certain education and work requirements. The proposal is a provision in Ohio House Bill 50 (HB 50), which was passed by the Ohio House of Representatives on December 8, 2015. The bill now goes to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
