North Dakota Medicaid Proposes New Coverage For Addiction Disorder
On October 15, 2020, the North Dakota Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that it was planning to expand access to addiction treatment services for individuals eligible for traditional Medicaid coverage. North Dakota Medicaid will pay a flat rate per week for a bundle of services related to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders. Another change will add coverage for withdrawal management services. Medicaid payments for the new addiction treatment services will be available retroactively to October 1, 2020.
