North Carolina Medicaid Clarifies IDD Services Will Stay With LME/MCOs For Four Years; No Decision For After Transition Period
North Carolina’s draft Medicaid 1115 waiver to implement Medicaid managed care for most populations clarifies that services currently provided under the state’s existing 1915 waiver, such as waiver services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) will continue to be delivered by the state’s local management entities/ managed care organizations (LME/MCOs) for at least four years. The demonstration is slated to begin in 2018, so the IDD services will be delivered by the LME/MCOs until 2022.
