North Carolina Child Welfare Services Implements NC FAST Pilot In Five Counties
North Carolina Child Welfare Services has implemented the North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) pilot program in five counties. The NC FAST system is being used to standardize data collection and reporting of child welfare services and outcomes in Guilford, Franklin, Richmond, Rockingham, and Sampson counties.
Implemented in 2003, the NC FAST program was designed to streamline county administrative tasks and recordkeeping related to managing social service benefits. The system applies built-in federal rules, automates eligibility determinations, facilitates the use of digital records, and allows better collaboration between county Department of Social Services (DSS) case workers . . .
