Nine Insurers Apply To Offer Healthy Pennsylvania Medicaid Expansion Plans

On June 20, 2014, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett announced that nine insurers had applied to participate in the Healthy Pennsylvania (Healthy PA) Private Coverage Option plan for adults earning up to 133% of the federal poverty level. Healthy PA is part of the state’s plan to reform its Medicaid program. Up to 500,000 individuals will be eligible to enroll in the private coverage option plans, which are slated to launch by January 1, 2015.
