New York Medicaid Releases MCO Requirements For Children’s System Transition To Managed Care
On July 31, 2017, the New York State Department of Health (DOH) released new Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) requirements, an application form, and standards for transitioning care for children with complex medical or mental health conditions to managed care under a federal section 1115 waiver amendment. Starting in July 2018, all children's home- and community-based services (HCBS) will be covered through Medicaid managed care. Medicaid managed care plans will also begin covering new children's Medicaid State Plan services, as well as additional behavioral health services that were previously carved out for those under 21 years old . . .
