New York City Mayor Proposes $132 Million To Fund New Mental Health Services
On May 5, 2015, New York City (NYC) mayor Bill de Blasio announced as part of the fiscal year (FY) 2016 Executive Budget, a multi-agency mental health initiative worth $54.4 million in FY 2016, and $78.3 million in FY 2017, to build an “inclusive mental health system in New York City.” In the fall of 2015, de Blasio will release a “roadmap” that will offer strategies to address the mental health services need in the city.
