New York Announces $47 Million Settlement With CenterLight Over Using Adult Day Care Centers For Medicaid MLTSS Plan Enrollment
On January 21, 2016, the New York State Attorney General announced that CenterLight Healthcare had agreed to a $47 million settlement regarding civil fraud claims that its Select Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Plan (MLTCP) had used social adult day care centers (SADCCS) to enroll ineligible program participants. As part of the settlement, CenterLight admitted that it enrolled 1,241 Medicaid beneficiaries who were referred by SADCCs or who received services from them, even though they were not eligible to receive managed long-term care under the plan.
