Florida Sets New Performance Requirements For Child Welfare Lead Agencies
On June 15, 2015, Florida Governor Rick Scott signed legislation directing the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to set adoption follow-up requirements for the community-based care (CBC) lead agencies responsible for foster and adoption services. One year after an adoption is finalized, the CBC must document its efforts to contact families to offer post-adoption service. The legislation, House Bill 7013, makes several changes to DCF foster care and adoption requirement starting July 1, 2015.
The new requirements for CBCs are accompanied by a new incentive program for CBCs and their subcontractors that achieve specified adoption . . .
