On May 14, 2019, Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed Senate Bill 19-178 to standardize adoption assistance policies and practices across Colorado’s 64 counties. Colorado has a state-supervised, county-administered child welfare system, which allowed counties to develop policies specific to their local communities.
