On December 1, 2016, a Nebraska legislative task force recommended that the state add services to reduce gaps in the current array of Medicaid and non-Medicaid public behavioral health services. The recommended services include a “No-Refusal” center for civil commitments, supportive housing, peer services, and programs to link offenders with mental illness exiting jail or prison with community-based services and medication.
