Nationwide, 6.8 Million People Had Long-Term Care Insurance In 2017
During 2017, about 6.8 million people in the United States had a long-term care (LTC) insurance plan, representing about 13.4% of the estimated 50.8 million people age 65 and older. Nationwide, across all ages, about 2% of the population has LTC insurance. Most people with an LTC insurance policy are age 50 or older.
