National Public-Private Child Welfare Partnership Launches To Redesign Systems To Avoid Separating Families
On September 9, 2020, the federal Children’s Bureau partnered with three private child welfare organizations to launch Thriving Families, Safer Children: A National Commitment to Well-Being, a national initiative to prioritize strengthening families and building resiliency, rather than separating families. Work will focus on creating and enhancing networks of community-based supports and aligning government resources to provide a full prevention continuum that strengthens community protective factors and parental protective capacities and mitigate associated risk factors.
