National Institute On Aging Awards $3 Million To Implement The Advance Care Specialist Program
In February 2020, Regenstrief Institute and Indiana University researchers will expand the Advance Care Specialist Program clinical trial from four pilot nursing home facilities to about 180 facilities in 14 states. The program tests whether advance care planning reduces hospitalization rates for nursing home residents with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Funding for the expansion is through a $3 million grant awarded in September 2019 by the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
