On April 18, 2019, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced the start of a $353 million effort focused on reducing opioid deaths. The effort will test the immediate impact of implementing an integrated set of evidence-based interventions to prevent and treat opioid misuse and opioid use disorder (OUD).
