On March 13, 2018, the American Health Care Association (AHCA)/National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) set new three-year quality goals for their member assisted living facilities to intensify their focus on delivering person-centered care. NCAL set the following goals, and has launched initiative training tracks for each: Reduce turnover among direct care staff to a rate of 50% or less. In 2016, the average annual turnover rate was about 36% among assisted living resident assistants and personal care aides.
