Missouri Preparing For Statewide Expansion Of Medicaid Managed Care In 2017

In January 2016, the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) announced plans to release a request for proposals (RFP) to expand managed care statewide and rebid its existing MO HealthNet Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contracts. Currently, the three MO HealthNet MCOs—Aetna, Centene, and WellCare—serve 54 counties under contracts that began on July 1, 2015. The state intends implement managed care statewide in all 114 counties by May 2017.

The RFP is slated for release in April 2016, with proposals due by July 1, 2016. By October 1, 2016, the state anticipates awarding statewide contracts to three MCOs . . .
