Missouri Reduces Funding For New DD Waiver Slots By 73%
In the Missouri budget for 2019-2020, the state cut funding for new developmental disability (DD) Medicaid waivers by 73%. During the previous fiscal year (2018-2019), $31.4 million was allocated to fund new DD waiver slots. For fiscal year 2019-2020, only $8.5 million in funding was allocated for new DD waivers; the funding is sufficient for about 440 waiver slots. As a result, the state is reviving the waiver waiting list.
As of December 16, 2019, 97 people are on the residential waitlist and 452 people are on the in-home waitlist. For the next fiscal . . .
