Mississippi Named First State To Receive 10-Year Medicaid Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver Extension
Mississippi is the first state to receive a 10-year Medicaid Section 1115 demonstration waiver extension. The extension is for the state’s Family Planning Medicaid waiver, which provides family planning services to men and women between the ages of 13 and 44, with income below 194% of the federal poverty level, who are not enrolled in creditable health coverage that includes family planning services. The state receives a 90% federal matching rate and services are delivered via the fee-for-service system.
