Michigan DHS Launches Child Welfare Data System With Real-Time Online Case Management Tools
On April 30, 2014, the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) launched its new Michigan Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (MiSACWIS) that features an online “real-time” case management application that links DHS, the court system, and community-based provider organizations. The system provides a case management tool for children and families involved with the child welfare system via Children’s Protective Services, foster care, or adoption. Different entities can share child welfare case data in real-time, online. Secure access can be gained through a desk top, laptop, or a variety of mobile devices.
