Medication Adherence Up 12% For Medicaid Beneficiaries Using Text Messaging For Patient Engagement

Medication adherence rates increased by 12% among Medicaid beneficiaries participating in a Montefiore Medical Center pilot program testing an interactive text message-based platform. The pilot was structured as a two-month clinical trial involving 67 patients and 15 care managers involved in the center’s Medicaid Health Home, Bronx Accountable Healthcare Network Health Home, which is operated by University Behavioral Associates.
