For calendar year 2020, Medicare will add new codes for telehealth services that include a bundled episode of care for treating opioid use disorder (OUD). Additionally, Medicare will add opioid treatment programs (OTPs) as entities that can bill Medicare Part B for providing methadone as medication assisted treatment (MAT) for OUD. The new telehealth addiction treatment codes are Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes GYYY1, GYYY2, and GYYY3.
