Medicare To Test Frontier Community Health Integration Project In Three States
Medicare is testing the Frontier Community Health Integration Project (FCHIP) in Montana, Nevada, and North Dakota. The three-year FCHIP demonstration, which runs through July 31, 2019, will test a rural integrated, coordinated care model. On August 4, 2016, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it had selected 10 critical access hospitals (CAHs) in the three states to participate in FCHIP.
Through FCHIP, CMS will grant the participating CAHs flexibility to make changes to one or more of three service lines: ambulance services, skilled nursing care, and telehealth services. The goal is to help consumers stay . . .
