Medicare Advantage To Offer Supplemental Benefits For Social Determinants In 2020
Starting in 2020, Medicare Advantage plans will be able to offer supplemental benefits that are not necessarily health-related to address members’ non-medical needs considered social determinants of health (SDOH). The supplemental benefits can be offered to targeted groups of members. On April 1, 2019, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the details in the 2020 Medicare Advantage Rate Announcement and Final Call Letter.
