Medicaid Kidney Transplant Rate Rose 66% In Expansion States, 33% In Non-Expansion States
In states that expanded Medicaid on or after January 1, 2014, the total number of Medicaid-covered pre-emptive kidney transplants (KTs) increased by 66% by the end of 2017, compared to the number of covered transplants between January 1, 2010 and the expansion date. In non-expansion states, between 2014 and 2017, the number of Medicaid-covered pre-emptive KTs increased by 33%.
