2018 Child Enrollment In Medicaid & CHIP Dropped Over 2%
During 2018, the number of children enrolled in Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) dropped by 2.3%, representing an estimated 840,325 children. Enrollment dropped from 37.7 million in 2017 to 36.9 million in 2018. In 39 states, net enrollment dropped by 920,000, but this was offset by increases in other states.
