MassHealth Selects Optum As Third-Party Administrator For LTSS Programs
On February 28, 2017, the Massachusetts Medicaid program (MassHealth) signed a three-year contract valued at $58.5 million, with Optum Government Solutions, Inc. to support its management and oversight of fee-for-service long-term services and supports (LTSS) programs. As the third-party administrator (TPA), Optum will support care for about 300,000 beneficiaries who receive state plan LTSS from more than 2,100 health care provider organizations. The TPA will not administer LTSS delivered outside of the state plan, such as those delivered through home- and community-based waivers or for LTSS delivered via integrated care programs . . .
