Maintaining staffing required to deliver patient-centered medical home (PCMH) functions is projected to cost $105,000 per primary care clinical professional, per year, according to an analysis of PCMH costs in Colorado and Utah. For primary care practices to deliver the seven key PCMH functions as outlined in the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards, the average monthly cost per full-time equivalent (FTE) primary care clinical professional averaged $9,658 in Colorado and $7,691 in Utah.  PCMH incremental costs per encounter were $36.68 in Colorado, and $32.71 in Utah.
