Louisiana Spent $1.3 Million On ICF/DD Facilities Between 2011 & 2013, Daily Rate Averaged $159 Per Person

Between 2011 and 2013, Louisiana spent $1.3 billion in Medicaid payments to 524 intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (ICF/DDs), at a daily rate of $159.53 for 4,895 individuals. Additionally, between 2011 and 2013 the 524 facilities were cited for 2,996 deficiencies, 355 of which were repeat deficiencies. About 98% (518) of the ICF/DDs are privately owned, and the remaining 6 facilities are operated by the state.
