On May 4, 2016, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) submitted a Medicaid state plan amendment for its Medicaid expansion to gain authority to use data from the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to streamline enrollment of the Medicaid expansion population.
