Louisiana Agrees To Create Community-Based Mental Health Capacity To Reduce Nursing Home Use
On June 7, 2018, the State of Louisiana and the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) announced an agreement to resolve the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation in which the state will create a new process to ensure mental health services for Medicaid beneficiaries diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI) receive the most appropriate care in the least restrictive setting.
