Los Angeles County DCFS Implements Pilot Program To Expedite Foster Care Placements For Youth At Temporary Shelters
On September 1, 2017, the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) launched a pilot program to expedite efforts to find placements for difficult-to-place foster youth housed in transitional shelters. The program is for youth who have not been placed after 72 hours at the 16-bed David & Margaret Youth and Family Services (D&M) temporary shelter care (TSC) program for adolescent girls.
