On May 24, 2018, a lawsuit was filed against the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) alleging that the state Medicaid program (called Medi-Cal) fails to provide adequate in-home nursing care for children with disabilities. The lawsuit has two named plaintiffs, children with significant disabilities, and the complaint seeks class-action status.
