Louisiana Considering Medicaid ACO Program For 2019; RFI Released
On November 4, 2016, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) released a request for information (RFI) about inviting accountable care organizations (ACOs) to participate in the state’s Medicaid managed care procurement in state fiscal year 2019. The ACOs would be fully capitated and operate as provider-led managed care plans. The ACOs would not replace the state’s managed care organizations (MCOs), but rather operate alongside them.
The state is considering contracting with ACOs as part of a larger effort to move Medicaid payments from a pay-for-volume to a pay-for-value structure. The initiative may become . . .
