King County, Washington To Transform Unused Jail Space Into A Homeless Shelter
On October 11, 2018, King County, Washington announced a series of actions to provide housing and services for homeless individuals; one of these includes repurposing an unused wing of the King County Correctional Facility for use as a temporary 24-hour enhanced emergency shelter for between 125 to 150 single adults. The location is across the street from an existing men’s shelter in the county administration building, and near another shelter for people with pets.
